New Delhi/Ranchi, July 8, 2026: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday inaugurated the two-day National Stakeholders Consultation organised by the Government of Jharkhand to deliberate on the state’s Vision 2050, with a strong focus on IT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance and emerging technologies.
A ddressing policymakers, industry leaders, technology experts, academicians and representatives from leading global technology companies, the Chief Minister said, “Jharkhand should be known not only for its mines but also for its minds. Our identity must extend beyond resources to research, beyond extraction to innovation, and beyond growth to broad-based, inclusive and sustainable development. Alongside our rich natural resources, we must give equal importance to research, innovation and a knowledge-based economy. The convergence of Jharkhand’s traditional knowledge with modern technology will drive the development of both Jharkhand and the nation.”
The consultation witnessed participation from representatives of leading organisations, including Microsoft, Google, and IBM who shared recommendations on strengthening Jharkhand’s digital ecosystem, attracting technology investments and preparing the state for future industries.
During the session, the state government presented concept papers on the proposed Jharkhand AI Policy, Investment Promotion Policy, Tourism Policy, Textile Policy, JIADA Regulations and PPP Policy, inviting feedback from industry stakeholders to make them more investor-friendly and future-ready.
A Business-to-Government (B2G) interaction was also held to explore investment opportunities and partnerships in IT, AI, digital governance and emerging technologies.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to developing policies that encourage investment, generate employment and accelerate inclusive growth, adding that stakeholder consultations would play a key role in shaping Jharkhand’s long-term development roadmap.
The event was attended by senior members of the Jharkhand Cabinet, including Ministers Deepika Pandey Singh, Irfan Ansari, Sanjay Kumar Yadav and Sudivya Kumar, along with Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh, senior government officials and industry representatives. Presentations were delivered by Tallin Kumar (IBM), Sandeep Arora (Microsoft) and Rajesh Ranjan (Google) on technology opportunities for Jharkhand.
The welcome address and introduction were delivered by Pooja Singhal, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Jharkhand. The vote of thanks was proposed by Madhavi Mishra, Director, Information Technology. The event was also attended by Arava Rajkamal, Secretary, Industries, Special Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, Special Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Director Industry, Vishal Sagar, along with senior officials of the Government of Jharkhand and key stakeholders from industry and academia.
